Weekly mowing is the standard recommendation for a well-maintained lawn, especially lawns that are irrigated and on a fertilization program. Lower-maintenance lawns that aren’t irrigated or fertilized regularly can typically go biweekly. During extended drought conditions, some lawns scale back further.
What’s the best time of year to sod or repair a lawn in St. Louis?
While we can and do schedule sod installations any time of the year, it’s best to try to get sod down before mid- to late June or after the end of August. Both give newly installed sod the cooler temperatures and reliable moisture it needs to root properly before the most demanding stretch of the season arrives.
